About US image
Marty Comstock and Lili Piplica have been teaching together since 2017, building the local Utica dance community to what it is today. They not only teach weekly classes in many forms of dance, but regularly host events outside the studio to bring the community together in the Greater Utica area.
Marty is versatile and accomplished dancer with a strong background in a variety of dance styles including Line Dance, Couples Country Western, Ballroom, Latin and West Coast Swing.
Though Marty now enjoys teaching, competing, and social dancing many dances, his roots are in country. He began line dancing in 1992, and in 1996 he moved to couples’ dances and began competing on the country western circuit. In 2001 Marty and his partner became UCWDC Division IV World Champions. While Marty no longer competes in country dancing, he is always thrilled about the opportunity to put on his boots and hat to share his love of this dance with others.
Not one to rest on his laurels, since his world championship Marty has focused on continuous improvement of both his dance and teaching techniques. He frequently travels throughout the country attending workshops, intensives, teacher trainings, and competitions. He has taught in ballroom studios with a focus on American smooth and Latin dances. As recent as 2019, Marty earned the GPDIA Intermediate West Coast Swing instructor certification.
He continues to share his love of dance with others and was instrumental in beginning and building a dance community in Utica, NY.

Lili, an accomplished dancer herself, brings decades of experience as a professional educator to the dance floor. She creates a welcoming and encouraging learning environment where everyone can feel comfortable to explore and grow their dance at their own pace.
Together, Marty and Lili currently teach ballroom classes, a continuous weekly West Coast Swing class, hosts a monthly social dance, and compete on the WSDC West Coast Swing circuit. They offer private lessons in Lili’s studio, “LiliLand”, and can often be seen not only at local dances but also at travel to other communities to share the love of dancing.
